Date Night at Home
Romantic Dessert Night In
Make them or buy them, enjoy samples of your favorite desserts and/or try some new ones. Light the candles, pour a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy!
Online Dancing Lessons
Waltz, Swing, Rumba? Try a variety of styles for free online for one fun evening or sign up for a class and practice often. Dance lessons can be a great way to connect and learn something new that just might impress your friends!
Special Scavenger Hunt
Plan your date night ahead by creating a scavenger hunt for your spouse. Leave a love letter for him or her to find and include special, meaningful, and fun items like a wedding picture of him and his best man or her and her mother, a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine, or a small gift.
Fire Pit for Two
This is a fun way to enjoy a night at home without being in. Get the fire going and make some campfire pies and smores or just bask in the warmth and good company.
Late Family Room or Bedroom Picnic
Put down a blanket, fill a picnic basket full of delicious treats, and light a few candles to savor both your time together and a special meal!
A sky full of stars is the perfect setting for an evening together. If the weather is cool, snuggle up in some soft blankets on the deck, lie back, hold hands and count as many constellations you can name. You might even see a shooting star. Make a wish!
Take an Evening Walk or Bike Ride
Savoring the fresh air while spending time together can be very romantic. If riding, be sure to stop and take in some of the interesting spots you pass. While you’re walking, hold hands, play the ‘what do you see in the clouds’ game, or watch the sunset.
Grab takeout and park at home to relish cozy fun in your SUV or minivan. With blankets, battery operated flickering candles, romantic music and/or a movie you can get away for the evening without ever leaving the driveway!
Couples Spa At Home
Pull out your fluffy robes and treat each other to spa treatments in your bedroom or bathroom. Candles, a glass of wine, face mask or facials, foot rub or back massage. Enjoy!
Dance Party for Two
Get up and get moving! Before the party starts make a playlist of your favorite songs, prep the club drinks and put on your dance clothes. Dance the night away, quietly if the kids are sleeping or as loud as you want if they’re away!
Wine, Cheese & Puzzle Date
Take your time and enjoy a glass of wine, cheese and crackers, games and more all while hunting for that elusive missing piece. Choose an easy puzzle you can finish in one evening or a more challenging one to enjoy for your standing date night over the next few weeks.
Would You Rather Dice Game
Have numbered ‘Would You Rather’ question lists ready and ask each other fun questions from the number rolled. Easy questions with low rolls and riskier or more outrageous questions with higher rolls or doubles!
Be a Kid for the Night
Table tent with blankets? Box fort in the basement? Transform your kid's daytime fort or tent into a fun parents getaway. If your kids are like mine they go big, big enough for mom and dad. Gather some snacks, grab your laptop or DVD player and head into the seclusion of your borrowed secret hideaway!
Cook a Special Meal Together
Oftentimes meals are rushed after or between family activities. Feed the kids their favorite take out or pizza then after they’re in bed, take time to cook your dinner together when you can enjoy the preparation as much as the meal that follows.
Remember Your Wedding Day
Look through your albums, watch your wedding video and remember the day that started your life together. To make it even more special, buy a cake and toast with champagne!
