Ice Skating Lessons at Kent State Ice Arena
Last weekend the kids and I visited the arena for a skating lesson and the kids had a great time. The instructors were very friendly and knowledgeable and the kids did remarkable well considering they’ve only been on ice skates a handful of times.
Given that I’m always concerned about safety, I was comforted in the fact that the instructors started the lesson by teaching the group how to properly fall on the ice. This helps prevent nasty falls and injuries.
Another thing I was impressed with, was the fact that everyone that works at the Ice Arena (instructors, managers, ice aides) are certified in First Aid/CPR/AED to the professional rescuer level. So if anything were to happen, they would be able to take necessary action immediately.
Side Note: If you’ve never personally been certified in CPR, read about my story and why I encourage everyone to be certified in CPR.
