Did you know that the Medina County Parks District is currently hosting a special event called Putt-ing Through the Ages? It's a FREE indoor miniature golf course located at Buffalo Creek Retreat in Seville.
And while it is a temporary attraction (dates below), they have done an amazing job with the quality and the unique aspects of the course. If you have time, you must check it out this year.
Note: These pictures are from 2015 when they first had the special event. They are bringing it back for select dates in 2017 & 2018 but it may be a little different than the pictures in this article.
All About Putt-ing Through the Ages – Indoor Mini Golf in Medina Ohio
When you first get there, you will be greeted by the friendly people from the park district that will explain all the details and get you all ready.
Note: They will also have you sign in (name, city, how you heard about them). If you do end up going because you saw this review, can you do me a favor and write down that you heard about them on NortheastOhioFamilyFun.com? Thank You!
The course consists of 12 holes, each of which is uniquely designed. You will encounter ocean animals, swamps, dinosaurs, woolly mammoths, volcanoes, glaciers and more. Plus, with each display there is educational information and fun facts for players to read.
It was very evident that they put a lot of thought, time and effort into creating the course.
My favorite part of the course was the interactive features. Putt-putt golf is always interactive, but they took it to a whole new level. Take the shark themed hole for example (pictured above), you start by placing the ball in the mouth of the shark.
It was an unexpected twist that made the game even more fun!
And while all the holes were great, the one we liked the best was the volcano themed hole. There was a special interactive feature with this one too. I won't spoil the surprise here, but I do recommend that you go check it out.
And if the miniature golf course wasn't fun enough, they also had a number of other activities for kids to participate in. Including an area with arts and crafts, where my kids made fossil rubbings.
And a number of dinosaur theme games like, Feed the Dinosaur (pictured above) and Digging for Fossils.
And last, but certainly not least, they have a room where you can sit and enjoy a movie. Disney's Ice Age of course!
Overall, we spent two hours at the exhibit. During that time we played two rounds of mini golf, the dinosaur games and did some crafts. It was a great time and well worth the 30 minute drive to get there.
As we were walking through the parking lot, my kids both asked when we could come back. That is a success in my book!

Is putting through the ages open now? Jan., 2017? We enjoyed it in previous years.
Can’t find anything on the web site.
Unfortunately no, it was a seasonal exhibit that was only open for a year. I do hope they bring it back because it was a lot of fun!

Is putting thru the ages open now?
Unfortunately it isn’t this year. For 2015, they have another seasonal event taking place called Blast from the Past. Here is the link with the details: http://www.medinacountyparks.com/images/blast%20from%20the%20past%2050th.pdf
Hope that helps!
