Many NE Ohio families vacation at Myrtle Beach each year. I remember visiting as a child and now I have the pleasure of watching my children experience the ocean. We truly enjoy our Myrtle Beach trips, so I thought we would share some of the fun things to do with kids in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in case you have the opportunity to travel there.
All About Ripley's Aquarium
Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach South Carolina is conveniently located at Broadway-at-the-Beach and is home to over 10,000 exotic sea creatures. While there, guests have an opportunity to touch sharks and horseshoe crabs, experience the amazing underwater tunnel full of marine life, get their picture taken with a mermaid, and much more.
Below are details and lot of pictures of the things we enjoyed most about the aquarium.
One of our favorite spots in the aquarium was the Touch Tank. The kids were extremely excited about the chance to touch a shark. The works were extremely helpful and told us all about the sharks and horseshoe crabs in the tank.
We all had a great time watching and touching them as they swam by.
Another fun spot was the underwater tunnel. I especially liked the moving pathway. Once you got on the path you were slowly taken through the 330 tunnel were you got to experience a variety of marine life swimming all around you.
Some of the animals we spotted included…
Green Sea Turtles
Sawfish (Take a look at it's eyes….they looks like a human's)
and lots and lots of Sharks!
Meet the Mermaids
Throughout the day they also have special Mermaid appearances. My daughter loved getting the chance to ask the mermaid a question and have her picture taken next to her.
They also offer a special Mermaid Experience for kids.
