When I first saw Family Friendly Knoxville's 5 Summer Boredom Busters, I figured it may be helpful for Northeast Ohio families looking for things to do with kids on summer vacation. (Side Note: If you ever plan a trip to Knoxville, you'll want to check out her site).
Starting today, each Monday through the end of August, I'll post various ideas for keeping the kids entertained throughout the upcoming week.
So, without further ado, here are this weeks Summer Boredom Busters:
Fun Ways to Celebrate the Fourth of July
Whether you prefer a fireworks display, parade, community celebration or festival, we've got the details for you. Check out the list of 70+ Northeast Ohio 2012 July 4th Events & Activities.
Fun Ways to Cool off this Week
Add balloons to your shopping list so you and the kids can try out some of the Super Fun Water Balloon Games that The Spirit of Savings put together. I'm planing to try the obstacle course with my kids.
Want to get out of the house instead? Head out to a local Spray Ground or Swimming Pool.
Fun 4th of July Recipe to Try
Holiday themed recipes are always fun! Because we are having a small get together at our house for the 4th, I wanted to find at least one themed side dish. In my search to find a simple recipe that the kids can help with, I found these 4th of July Fruit Kabobs. They look delicious, patriotic and healthy. I know the kids will have fun putting them together!
Fun Thing to Do with Young Children This Week
This Friday the New Outdoor Garden and Little Sprouts Program starts at the KidZibits Family Education Center in University Circle (10825 East Boulevard Cleveland, Ohio 44106). Every Friday at 1:00pm in July and August, the Center will host a special program to teach kids all about vegetables. Children are invited to use the indoor play garden and the real outdoor garden.
Fun Outdoor Movie to Watch
Tonight, the Green YMCA is hosting a FREE Community Celebration. Head over to the Green YMCA (3800 Massillon Road Uniontown, OH 44685) at 7:45 and enjoy a dip in the indoor pool. At 9:15pm the outdoor movie ‘We Bought a Zoo’ will be shown.
Interesting in finding out about other upcoming Outdoor Movies?
Have a great week!
