Penitentiary Glen Reservation (one of the Lake MetroParks) has nearly 7 miles of trails that you can explore. Snowshoe rental is reasonably priced and is available daily from 9-4. You can choose to rent for the entire day or by the hour.
Never been snowshoeing, not to worry, start with the Peppermint Trail. It's a quarter-mile loop that is perfect for beginners and families. You even get a complimentary peppermint stick for participating
