Did you know that Fannie May Chocolates (Harry London) in Canton offers FREE tours?
Tours are offered Monday to Thursday, from 11 am-3 pm, at the top of each hour, and run approximately 45 minutes. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (330) 494-0833, ext. 119. (Note: tours do not run on federal holidays, and there is a factory summer shutdown planned each year from the end of June to the beginning of July. Guests are encouraged to call for updates.)
Retail shop hours are Monday to Friday from 9 am-5 pm.
During the tour, visitors learn about the history of Harry London, see the factory, watch as chocolates are being made, and even sample some delicious chocolate and gelato.
You won’t want to miss this delicious, educational, and fun opportunity!
All About Factory Tours at Fanny May Chocolates
Note: I didn’t include any pictures of the inside of the factory because we weren’t allowed to use cameras during most of the tour. You’ll just have to make a trip and tour the facility on your own to see the inside. 🙂
The tour starts with a short video and a walk-through timeline of the history of Harry London/Fanny May Chocolates.
Then we got to see the factory. Inside the factory, we saw huge vats of chocolate and chocolate candies moving down the production line to be wrapped and boxed.
The kids enjoyed watching everything taking place and were amazed at the process. They even got to wave at the workers through the glass windows.
The highlight of the tour was the samples at the end. We enjoyed dark chocolate-covered cherries, milk chocolate-covered buttercream, and white chocolate-covered caramel. Yum!
After the samples, we headed to the store to sample the gelato and peruse the wide variety of chocolates on sale.
Overall, it was a great experience and we enjoyed watching them make the chocolate almost as much as we enjoyed eating it!
