The over the top display is located in Wadsworth Ohio and is the creation of Greg and Rachel Osterland, who during the month of December become affectionately know as Clark and Ellen Griswold. 2023 marks the 11th year for the display!

All About the Tribute to National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Light Display
Greg grew up watching Christmas Vacation every Christmas Eve with his family, and he has taken that tradition to a whole new level by recreating the Griswold’s light display at his own home.
The display consists of ‘250 stands of lights; 100 bulbs per strand; for a grand total of 25,000 imported Chinese twinkle lights.’ And we can’t forget about Santa, the eight tiny reindeer, and the Merry Christmas sign. Not to mention the pile of “trash” with remnants of the Griswold’s festivities (the charred chair, the shredded sled, the burnt tree).
When you pull up to the house, be sure to tune your radio to 102.3 for some music that is ‘real nice.’
What are Rachel and Greg’s favorite aspects of the display? “We love being able to share in other people’s appreciation of the the display. Last year we had a large family drive up in their RV. It was priceless.”

While it is free to view the display, monetary donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are appreciated. 100% of the money donated goes towards the CFF Great Strides Walk in Akron, which they have participate in each May (Team name is: The Griswolds). Viewers can donate at the house or online here. Note: There is a QR code on the sign at the display that you can scan and it will also take you directly to the donation website.
This is a tribute that Clark Griswold himself would truly appreciate!

When: The display will be up after Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve, from 5-11 pm nightly

Viewing Instructions: The house is located on a dead end street. Please be courteous to the neighbors, especially when turning around. Be sure to turn your headlights off when turning around. If needed, use their driveway to turn around and not the neighbors driveway.

Awesome job guys. I’m “Clark” in my neighborhood. Just had the whole family down to celebrate. I did it big, and I did it right! Even though mine isn’t dedicated to the movie it has that Griswold look. Would love to exchange photos of our respective homes as we live in Florida.

I’m so sorry we missed your comment originally! After much searching, we finally found the set online, I believe Ebay. Home Depot started selling similar ones a few years back but it only came with Santa and 2 deer.
I am from Pennsylvania and I have never seen a house decorated like your house. My son and his family live in Ohio and he said you just have to see this house so he took us to see it. It is breath taking, I can’t imagine how you can put that many lights on a house. It was very interesting. “Marry Christmas to you”!
