While drive-in theaters are becoming rarer and rarer, we are fortunate to have nine drive-in movie theaters in Northeast Ohio! Load up the car and experience a classic summer night at one of these iconic drive-in movie theaters. The movie prices are great and most have double showings each night.
Be sure to check the movie schedule as not all are suitable for young kids. Many of the theaters offer concession stands that serve a wide variety of food, snacks, and beverages. Note: Some allow you to bring in outside food (for a small fee per car).

Tips for Going to a Drive-In Movie
Plan to attend – With several theaters in the area, use our list to find the one within driving distance that is offering family-friendly movies best for you and your family. Open dates and times vary, so once you have found the best locations for you, make note of their opening and season closing dates and show times so you don’t miss out.
Set realistic expectations with your kids – The comfort of your car might sound nice and cozy, but depending on the type of vehicle you drive, it may not be as comfortable as they would like. Encourage them to dress comfortably and to bring their favorite pillow, blanket, and other comfort items.
Arrive early – Drive-in theaters can get busy during the peak of the season, so arrive early to make sure you get a good parking spot and to prepare for the movie. If you wait until just before the movie starts, you might not have a lot of parking options. Plus, your neighbors will be happier if you arrive early and not interrupt the movie.
Protect your kids (and yourself!) from the weather – The weather in Ohio is unpredictable even if the forecast predicts a perfect evening. Consider wearing layers so everyone is comfortable on a very warm evening or unpredictably chilly night.
Pack your own snacks – Pack plenty of drinks and snacks. It can be part of the fun to pack a cooler of your favorites. If you’d prefer to purchase food, check to see if the theater offers a concession stand, and consider calling ahead to find out the type of concessions available.
Remember your camera – Make sure your phone is charged or bring along a camera to capture fun car photo ops with the kids.
Be sure to bring some cash money – Prepare for add-on activities and/or buying concessions by bringing some cash money in case they don’t accept credit cards.
Check the forecast before you go – Most movies will continue if there is some weather, but always check the theater website or Facebook page if the weather forecast doesn’t look promising. Many will cancel the movie if heavy rain and/or storms are expected.
