65+ Splash Pads in Northeast Ohio – Best Places to Cool Off this Summer

Last Updated: 5/13/2025

Looking for a fun and often FREE way to cool off this summer? Visiting a local splash pad is a great way to beat the heat! The water spraying out of the fountains and interactive features provides an endless supply of fun for children. And because there is typically little to no standing water, they are safe for young children who don’t know how to swim.

Thank you for putting this list together! It helps when we are looking for something cool and fun to do – heading to Ashland splash pad in a little bit thanks to this list.
Is there any way you can start adding Erie and Huron County to your lists?
I know for this list Sandusky has two splash pads, Lions Park and Huron Park, but there may be more in the area. The area often gets over looked because it’s right between Toledo and Cleveland but it has a lot to offer and isn’t a far drive from most of NE Ohio.

There’s a group in Orwell that are working on getting a spray park in Orwell! They’ve had quite a few events to raise money and are quite organized.

We went to the Inclusive Playground at Hollstein Reservation in Amherst today after finding it on your list of Spraygrounds and I thought I would pass along some helpful information. Probably the most important is that it costs $2 per person (adults & children) to enter the park. Nowhere on their website does it list an admission fee. I talked with several adults at the park and they said the admission fee is new this year, they were no fees last year. I would also like to point out that the park’s website states that the park has a stage, rock climbing, maze, and art tile wall … We didn’t see any of these things. The website also states that there are several tent structures which make up a village, and a different activity in each tent. We saw the tents, there was nothing inside them, no activities, and it no way resembles a village. We were so very disappointed in this park; my children thought it was kind of boring there. The only thing that saved the day was the sprayground and sand pit … But there are other parks that are much closer to us and that are free that have these same features. My advice is that if you close (under 30 mins), then go ahead and check out this park; but do NOT make a “special trip” because you think this park will be “worth it”, because it won’t and you probably have a park much closer to home that is just as nice, if not better than this one.

      Theresa,

Thank you for leaving such a helpful comment about your experience. I wish that trip had been better. I’ll contact the park’s department to find out why some of the features weren’t there and I’ll update this listing to indicate the admission price.

      Take Care,

This is the 2nd year the City of Green splash pad is open. I’m a Green resident – it’s a fantastic new park, my kids loved it last year. Concerts on certain summer nights, farmer’s market on Tuesdays, etc. Lots to see and do in the park if you plan accordingly. LOVE this new park! What a gem we have

      Christi,

I don’t believe you have to be a resident to use the splash park as I can’t find any restrictions listed on their website (and most that are limited to residents indicate it). However, I’ve never been there personally so I can’t say for certain.

From what we found out last year, the Wayne County splash park is very expensive! For my two kids last year it would have cost $20 for a day pass (I have to pay for myself as well, even if I was not getting wet, because I have to supervise them). Yearly passes are not much better.

Bummer about splash park in North Ridgeville. I am not a resident but have been taking the kids for the past couple years. I don’t know if it they’ve always had a “residents only” policy or this is something new?
