Over the weekend, our family had the opportunity to visit Castaway Bay Indoor Water Park in Sandusky.
See the mounds of snow in the picture above? With the winter weather we’ve had this year, a trip to Castaway Bay was the perfect way to escape the snow and pretend it was summer. I wish I was still there!
All About Castaway Bay Indoor Water Park
The waterpark has it all, 7 water slides, a water roller coaster (our favorite), a wave pool, indoor and outdoor hot tub, toddler pool area and much more!
The height requirements for the slides were perfect for my kids (ages 5, 7) because they were able to do everything on their own. Even the BIG water slides and the water roller coaster.
Of course we spent a lot of time in the wave pool as well. Splashing around in and riding the waves. As an added bonus, they have life jackets available for kids, the jackets give them the freedom to swim a little farther out and enjoy the waves. Plus, as a parent knowing my children had the life vests on made the experience much more relaxing and enjoyable for me.
In addition to the excitement of the waterpark, Castaway Bay also offers other family friendly touches, like a children’s craft area, HUGE arcade, and story time with the Peanut characters. During our stay, the kids got to decorate their own beach towels.
Overall, we had a great time at Castaway Bay. And after the additional 3 inches of snow we revived the day after we returned home, I’m ready for our next trip.
