Chuck Wagon Dinner Rides at Bonnybrook Farms
During our weekend getaway to Warren County Ohio, we got to experience a Chuck Wagon Dinner Ride at Bonnybrook Farms. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
Before Dinner Fun
The farm fun starts at 5pm when guest can arrive at the farm and check out all their is to see and do.
Our first stop was to visit the animals in the stable. We saw horses, donkeys and Jacob Sheep. All the animals were friendly and calm and we were able to pet the donkeys and horses.
Our next stop was the giant slingshots. This was a huge hit with the kids and my husband and I. There were five slingshots, a plethora of tennis balls and a target about 50 yards away. We each took turns launching the tennis balls into air toward the target.
Our aim obviously isn’t the best as we only hit the target once (and that was on a bounce), but we had a great time trying.
Next we decided to explore the many fun aspects of the farm yard, which included:
- Horseshoe Hill Tunnel – Pictured in the upper left corner of the image above. It was an 80 foot underground slide that went right through the middle of a large hill. It was a blast!
- Horse Tire Swings – The kids each took turns riding the horse tire swings. Aren’t they adorable? We may try to create one for our swing set at home.
- Clodhopper Golf Course – It’s miniature golf with a twist as players use clubs made from axe handles and horse shoes and hit rubber balls the size of a softball into underground buckets. Unique, creative and fun!
- Large Lake – Where you can feed the fish or bring your own pole and bail and attempt to catch one (catch and release).
Dinnertime
At 6:30pm they ring the dinner bell and everyone heads to the barn to eat. Everything was homecooked and made with fresh local ingredients. For our meal we chose from pulled pork, chicken sandwiches, homemade macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, and a variety of other sides. There was also water and lemonade available to drink and guest are invited to bring their own beverages if they choose.
All four of us ate every last bit of our food. To me, clean plates are the ultimate sign of a good meal!
Tractor Ride to the Chuck Wagon Campfire
After our fill of the delicious food the tractors arrived to take us on a wagon ride. It was a scenic 30 minute ride over the river and through the woods to the campsite. The perfect amount of time for our food to settle so we were ready for dessert!
Which consisted of freshly baked cookies, homemade strawberry shortcake and s’mores cooked over a campfire. It was a wonderful way to end a fun-filled evening with the family.

Just saw this website on the calendar for Waynesville website and thought I’d check it out. My family and I are from California and this looks so fun! We will definitely be visiting your farm this year with our 3 children and possibly some friends. Sounds like a great unique way to have fun with our kids that does not include TV or video games….. I’m so excited to check this place out. Do you also host birthday parties?
