Early this year, we were invited to Cedar Point for a chance to stay at the newly renovated Hotel Breakers and spend the day at Cedar Point. We had a wonderful time are really enjoyed our visit to Sandusky!
5 Reasons We Like to Stay at Hotel Breakers in Cedar Point
# 1 – Guests at Hotel Breakers get early entry into Cedar Point
Early entry into the park is a HUGE perk because it allows us to ride some of the more popular rides before the lines get too long.
This year, our family was able to ride the Millennium Force, Maverick, Gatekeeper and Iron Dragon all within the first hour the park was open. It took longer to walk between the coasters than it did to wait in line. Early entry is wonderful!
Tip: Use the side entrance to the park located near the Windseeker (really high swing ride), as it is just a short walk along the boardwalk right outside the hotel. Be sure to go out early because the line starts to form about 45 minutes before the entry time.
#2 – You don’t have to pay for parking if you stay at Hotel Breakers
The cost of parking at Cedar Point ranges from $15 – $25, depending on the type of car and the parking location. However, guests that stay at Hotel Breakers receive complementary parking.
#3 – Hotel Breakers is a beach-front hotel
The hotel is located on the beach so we planned our trip so we arrived at the hotel the afternoon before we visited the park. After we arrived, we spent a long time enjoying the beach. My husband and I sat on the beach chairs while the kids played in the sand.

# 4 – There is a Dorm Sized Refrigerator and Microwave in the Guest Rooms
Anytime we stay the night away from home, we always pack food and drinks for the trip. Doing this allows us to save money because we don’t have to eat out for every meal. The microwave allowed us to heat up the dinner we had brought and the we were able to keep our water and snacks for the next day cold in the fridge.
Tip: Bring your drinks in reusable bottles so you can refill them throughout the day at the water fountains located in the park.
#5 – Hotel Breakers has an Indoor AND Outdoor Pool
In addition to renovating the hotel, they also renovated the outdoor pool and patio area. The new outdoor pool features a kids play area with water fountains and slides.
Because we visited before Memorial Day, the outdoor pool was closed, but the kids still got to enjoy the indoor swimming pool.
Overall, we had a great time at Cedar Point and really enjoyed the updates they made to Hotel Breakers. The kids are already asking to go back.
