Sunshine and strawberries are two of my favorite ways to kick-off the summer! Strawberry picking has become a tradition in our family, and Monroe’s Orchard & Farm Market is a picture perfect backdrop to the U-pick strawberries experience.
Bring out the entire family for the morning, and then reap the rewards with all of the delicious fruits of your labor.
U-Pick Strawberries at Monroe's Orchard
Monroe’s Orchard is a four-generation farm, and you can feel the family pride as soon as you pull up the drive. Their little country store houses home-grown fruits, local syrups and unique knick-knacks. You can certainly spend some time browsing their shop before you depart on your berry picking extrusion. The staff is extremely friendly.
They ask you to park around back, so I’d recommend doing that before unloading your stroller and bags. You can bring your own containers or purchase two different size containers from the shop.
Once you have your collection materials you can head out to the strawberry fields. One of the neat parts about this U-pick location is that they assign your group a row. You have your own little area to pick strawberries, take photos and enjoy. The staff member even put us on an end row, so my toddler had space to move around a bit more.
There is an abundance of ripe berries, and it is easy to pick a carton. Once you have finished up, you move your start flag to your stopping point for the upcoming group. They make the berry picking process an easy and an efficient experience!
The next stop is back to the shop to pay for your picks. Then you get to head home with your scrumptious rewards. Besides enjoying the fresh strawberries alone, it’s a great time to break out all of your recipes featuring strawberry ingredients! You might find yourself returning pretty quickly for more.
