Tips for a Playing Disc Golf

Purchase actual disc golf frisbees – This is important for several reasons. First, they are designed to travel farther which will make it much easier to play. Second, they are made of rubber and won't break if you hit a tree. Beginner sets can be ordered online or head to your local sporting resale store to buy discs second hand.

Bring enough frisbees and a bag to hold them – You'll need a minimum of one disc per person. We also suggest brining a few extra just in case someone actually tosses one into a lake. More advanced players will want to get different types of discs to play with (putters, drivers, etc), but that isn't necessary if you are just getting started.

Protect your kids (and yourself!) from the sun – There likely won't be much shade, so be sure to load up with sunscreen or wear a hat to keep the sun off your face.

Pack your own snacks – Pack plenty of water and bring along some snack you can enjoy between holes.

Set realistic expectations with your kids – Do you plan on playing all 18 holes? Maybe only 9? If you've never played before, perhaps the first time you may just want to try 2-3 holes to make sure everyone likes it.
