This month’s mantra: There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Don’t let the chilly temperatures keep you from getting out of the house. There are lots of fun activities happening around town this month and we know you will LOVE them! Enjoy our picks for best events and things to do February.
Hike to a Frozen Waterfall

Technically the waterfalls aren’t completely frozen, but as long as the temperature dips and stays below freezing for an extended period of time, the waterfalls sure appear to be frozen. See the impressive ice formations at Brandywine Falls or other area waterfalls. Check out the “Crystal Palace” along the river trail at the Gorge Metro park. And see the ice on Lake Erie at Euclid Beach Park, Lakewood Park and Rocky River Park.
Celebrate President’s Day

Did you know that 8 presidents were born in Ohio?! Celebrate our nation’s leaders and enjoy the day off from school with family friendly local events and things to do on President’s Day.
Pretend it’s Summer at an Indoor Water Park

Book an overnight stay at one of these waterparks in Ohio and escape from the cold days of winter for a little while. Make sure to view the water park rules and height requirements before you go to avoid any disappointment.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Special “Family Date”

Let the kids choose their favorite “date” activity. Roller skating, laser tag, scavenger hunts, snow tubing, museums or ice skating. One of our favorite things to do is to visit a candy shop or tour a chocolate factory to pick up some yummy Valentine’s treats! Afterward, we like to head home to watch a movie or enjoy board games together.
Play Indoors at Urban Air Adventure Park

Urban Air is an adventure park that offers a wide variety of obstacles, equipment, and other things to let out your inner ninja. They have go-karting, a ropes course, bowling, bumper cars, and more! Make sure to pack lots of water, you will surely need it.

Head to your local Library

Library’s often host special events throughout the month specifically designed for kids. Check you libraries website to see what they offer. Of course, you can visit anytime and enjoy the children’s department. Find a reading nook and let your kids read at the library or play with the library toys (we used to love playing with the puppets). And always check out a few fun books to read at home!
See the Sharks at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium

Admire stingrays, sharks, lionfish, and more! There’s even a touch tank for you to get your hands on some unique animals. Before you go, check their website to see if they have any special events you want to attend.
