Indoor playgrounds – Indoor playgrounds are a great option anytime of the year.  During the winter, kids can burn off extra energy when it’s too cold to play outside.  And during the summer, you can beat the heat by running and playing in the comfort of an air conditioned room.

Take the family Bowling. Be sure to call your local alley to confirm open bowling time and to check if they have bumpers lanes if you need them.

In the summer months you can sign the kids up for the Kids Bowl FREE Program and let them bowl free all summer long and many local bowling alleys. Note: Shoe Rental Fees may apply

There are a variety of ninja warrior gyms right here in Northeast Ohio. The unique gyms have special ninja equipment and obstacle courses that both adults and kids can try. Some even offer ninja classes and training programs so you can improve your strength and agility.

Lace up some skates and head to the roller rink. It is a great way for the kids to burn off some of that extra energy too.

Museums in Ohio – There are many many unique, educational and fun museums and science centers located in Ohio.  Plan a trip with your children to make education fun!

Head to the Akron Art Museum (free Admission on Thursdays) or the Cleveland Art Museum (free admission every day)

We love the hands on science fun at Great Lakes Science Center and checking out the historic plans at MAPS Air Museum 

You can also learn about money at the interactive and free Cleveland Money Museum.

Take a Tour of Harry London’s Chocolate factory or one of the other local factory tours. Note: Reservations are required.

Spend the afternoon swimming at an area pool. Be sure to call to confirm the open swim times.

Once a month the Akron Civic Theatre offers free public tours.  The tours are approximately 15 minutes and you’ll learn about the history of the theatre.

Attend a live musical performance or a event at your local children’s theatre. 

Let your kids express their creativity with arts and crafts including painting pottery, glass blowing, making handmade jewelry, building wooden projects and more.  Various locations across the region offer a variety of children & family classes, private instructions, demonstrations and more.

Head to the movies. Check your local theater to see what is plays. During the summer many local theaters offer dollar movies. Score!

Dust off the board games and have a tournament.

Create Paper Airplanes {The Eagle, High Glider and Fancy Flier}

Do Science Experiments at Home. Balloon Rocket, Walking Water and Magic Milk are really fun and use items you may already have at home.
